Cute, but I had plans the instant I saw it |
After painting it a pretty blue color, it needed a little something to snazz it up a bit. Using a stencil bought with a 40% off coupon, I painted it with my collection of craft paints in happy colors.
Ta-Da!
Isn't it cute? The stenciling isn't perfect because it was too hard to use standard stenciling techniques on the little circles but after a little cleaning up, it makes me happy. I love the bright colors in the fun pattern, don't you?
I'll update you on where it ends up in my home when that project is complete...don't hold your breath as this might take awhile :)

love this one...I'm going to ber watching at the good will for one of these.....
ReplyDeleteI love how you are buying all these chunky 1970's items and making them look cool again. I normally walk right past that stuff at the thrift store, but now I am going to slow down in that aisle.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out so pretty....:)
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, so cute! Keep buying all the spice-rack-mabobs, you make such fun transformations! I agree with Pam, especially as 70s decor can prove difficult...but obviously not to you! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how bright and happy this is! Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Becky
Super duper CUTE!!! Love the stencil! I'm a fan. :) Thanks for sharing on my Korner.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Terrific new look and I love those knobs!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I purchase the ugliest furniture and home decor, simply because I love the knobs! Many people are so turned off by the ugly, they don't notice the pretty little knobs, so I can get them at a great price!

Super cute! I love the dots and flowers. Is it a recipe box rack thing?
ReplyDeleteAngie - I agree; you have to look past the dirt and ugly! I pretty much look at everything as a different color anyway :)
ReplyDeleteShiloh - The drawers are too small for recipe cards at about 2", so it was probably always supposed to be decorative. I'm thinking it's supposed to mimic old-time spice drawers. The stencil is my favorite new thing!

Love it, Jill!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Do you have any idea how much I kicking myself for all the "junk" that I tossed from my Grandma's garage that could have totally been refurbed like this?? Ugh!! Hindsight, right??
ReplyDeleteAnyways, it looks fab! Thanks for sharing. Found you via link party. :o)
I love this! You did great! I can't wait to find out where you put it. ;) Thank you so much for stopping by Bella Nest!
