Putting Out Fires

Sigh.

All the plans, big and small, are on hold while things like toilets and chimneys get fixed. Having a working chimney that isn't crumbling seemed more important than paint colors.

I would like to say my dresser makeover is done, but raking the yard and picking up downed tree limbs and sticks took precedence. Being able to mow the lawn (or have someone else do it) seemed more important than hitting a thrift shop.

Funny how things like a remodeling schedule get thrown out the window when you realize nicotine stains are on all the surfaces in the house...

...but getting to see the Cherry Blossoms on a gorgeous sunny day and spending time with the one you love is more important than anything in the world.

The house isn't going anywhere...

  1. No, it's not. And fixing the bones are way more important. Though it drives me crazy having to spend $$ on things you can't see! And spending time with your man is way more important, too. though sometimes, my mind drifts...back to the mudroom...hehehe...

  2. The best laid plans...
But possibly there is a need to be taught that things happen in their own time. It happens. When we forget, life puts in a few refresher courses.
At least you get to enjoy it all. It could send you over the edge. But it hasn't.
And those blossoms are beautiful! I would love a cherry tree in our garden...
