Look at what I found at my almost-local (45 miles away) Re-Store:
Love the autumn leaves, but not loving the brass handle/stem, plus the finish was worn. Thankfully, it all came apart!
I think this was Oneida Premier |
Since this was metal, I figured automotive primer would work well:
It looks better already |
But I thought this might look even better:
Yep - Oil Rubbed Bronze with those little metallic flecks. Love!
One more pic:
Can't have any of those cookies - I ate them all. No, not in one day! Jeez - it took three days - I'm watching my waistline
This was something that someone drilled and put together - anyone know if they still sell those handle/stem thingees still? I still want to make my own...
Here's a sneak peek into some projects I'm working on:
So much better without the bright brass color. It looks even better decorated with all those cookies! Great makeover!
ReplyDeleteWhat a score! I love the leaves and the oil rubbed bronze is perfect! I don't know if they sell the hardware kits (let me know if you find them), but here's my "industrial version that you can make from parts from your local hardware store: http://backlessshirt.blogspot.com/2011/05/industrial-spin-on-tiered-tray-tutorial.html

ReplyDeleteCuddos on a job well done. Again. Can't wait to see the next in line.
A little love is sometimes all it takes! It looks SO much better...

ReplyDeleteI forgot to tell you how much I liked your server. Isn't it amazing what a little paint will do?
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! My ReStore isn't as close as I'd like. (But maybe that's a good thing... could be dangerous!)
ReplyDeleteThat looks so sharp. That finish is perfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat find and tweak. I love the Re-store and oil rubbed bronze.
